Use sterile equipment and devices for vaccine reconstitution and administration.
Normal aseptic precautions must be followed during all types of administration.
Users must be aware of all safety precautions when handling liquid nitrogen to prevent injury.
Preparation of the vaccine suspension
-
After determining the correct diluent volume according to the vaccine dose, quickly remove the required number of ampoules from the liquid nitrogen container.
-
Withdraw 2 ml of diluent using a sterile 5 ml syringe with at least 18-gauge needles.
-
Rapidly thaw the ampoules in water at 27–39°C with gentle agitation. Discard any accidentally thawed ampoules and never refreeze them.
-
Once fully thawed, open the ampoules at arm’s length to avoid injury in case of breakage.
-
Slowly draw the contents of the ampoule into the syringe containing 2 ml diluent.
-
Transfer the suspension into the diluent bag and mix gently. Do not reuse opened vaccine containers.
-
Rinse the ampoule with part of the diluted vaccine and return the liquid to the diluent bag. Repeat once or twice.
-
Mix the diluted vaccine gently until ready for use. The ready-to-use product is a clear reddish injectable suspension.
During vaccination, mix the diluted vaccine regularly by gently inverting the container to ensure suspension homogeneity.
Repeat steps 2–7 for the required number of ampoules.
Use the vaccine within 2 hours after preparation and mix periodically during use.
General precautions
Adequate protection is achieved only in healthy birds.
All birds on the farm should be vaccinated simultaneously.
Avoid spreading the vaccine strain to turkeys.
Dispose of all opened vaccine containers remaining after vaccination in accordance with local regulations.
Improper storage or use of the vaccine may result in loss of efficacy.
Storage conditions
The vaccine must be stored and transported in liquid nitrogen.
Do not refreeze the vaccine.
