Each EQS-5 T tablet contains 5 mg of megestrol acetate.

Pharmacological Properties
The active ingredient of EQS-5 T, megestrol acetate, has progestogenic activity as well as significant anti-estrogenic and antiglucocorticoid effects.
Method of Administration
EQS-5 T is used in female dogs and cats to suppress heat, and in male dogs and cats to reduce sexual activity and regulate undesirable behavior such as aggression, attraction to marked places, tendency to roam, and increased excitability.
EQS-5 T is recommended for cats and small dogs, while EQS-20 T is recommended for large dogs.
The product is administered orally, preferably under the tongue or together with a small amount of delicacy/food, 1–2 hours before feeding.
Use in Cats
In cats, EQS-5 T is used. The dosage depends on the animal’s sex and the purpose of administration.
To Delay Heat in Cats
Administer between heat periods:
The duration of treatment should not exceed 18 months. A new course may begin only after the normal physiological cycle (heat) is restored.
To Stop Heat in Cats
Administer 1 tablet daily for 5–7 days, starting no later than 3 days after the onset of heat, until the signs of heat disappear.
It is recommended not to interrupt heat more than twice a year.
If it is difficult to determine whether heat has already started, delaying heat is preferable to stopping it.
To Reduce Sexual Activity and Undesirable Behavior in Cats
Administer EQS-5 T:
To Delay Heat in Female Dogs
Administer 0.5 mg of megestrol acetate per kg of body weight daily, 7–15 days before the expected onset of heat.
The duration of administration depends on the desired delay period but should not exceed 32 days.
Heat may begin several days after discontinuation of the product.
After prolonged administration (approximately 1 month), heat usually begins after 4–6 months, sometimes after 2–9 months.
No more than 2 treatment courses per year are recommended.
