vet code: QP51BC01 Toltrazuril is a member of the triazinetrione group of anti-coccidial agents, active against Eimeria spp.
Toltrazuril induces fine structure changes in coccidia during developmental stages. This is mainly due to the swelling of the endoplasmic reticulum and the Golgi apparatus, abnormal changes in the perinuclear space, and impaired cell division. Toltrazuril causes a decrease in the activity of enzymes of the respiratory chain in parasites. Target species chickens and turkeys. Indications for the treatment of coccidiosis in chickens and turkeys.
Effective against the following coccidia: Chickens: Eimeria acervulina, E. brunetti, E. maxima, E. mitis, E. necatrix, E. tenella. Turkeys: E. adenoides, E. meleagrimitis. Contraindications 18 Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the active substance or any of the excipients. Do not use in birds whose eggs are intended for human consumption. No adverse effects are known. Special Precautions Dilution of drinking water containing less than 1 ml of Intracox Oral (Intracox Oral) may cause precipitation. Use during pregnancy and lactation Do not use in birds whose eggs are intended for human consumption. Interactions Combination with antibiotics may cause a decrease in water intake in turkeys. Intracox Oral does not prevent the development of immunity to coccidiosis.
Recommendations for dosage and method(s) of administration for oral administration with drinking water:
100 ml per 100 liters of drinking water (25 ppm) continuously for 48 hours. or 300 ml in 100 liters of drinking water (75 ppm) per day for 8 hours for 2 consecutive days. This corresponds to the following dose of toltrazuril - 7 mg per kg of body weight per day for 2 consecutive days.
Note: Ensure that medicinal breath is the only means of fluid intake during therapy. Overdose In case of exceeding the recommended dose, a decrease in water absorption may develop. No special warnings are known.
