Advantages of the new passport compared to other veterinary passports:
There is a table of contents on the inside of the passport cover, which allows the interested person to familiarize himself with the composition and easily find relevant information;
Individual passports are numbered sequentially, which allows the veterinary clinic to create a database of passport information. Numbering also excludes falsification and production of fake passports;
There is a place for 2 photos of the animal in the passport, since registration of the animal is mandatory from the age of one month. Accordingly, a photo of the puppy/kitten will be attached to the passport first, and later, when the animal reaches adulthood, a photo of the adult animal will be attached;
There is a complete form of information about the owner (p. 3). In addition, in case of a change of owner, there are additional pages (36,37) where information about the new owner will be placed and it will no longer be necessary to issue another passport;
The news is on the information indicating the status of the animal in the passport (page 4), where it is noted whether the animal is euthanized or the owner. It is necessary for the pet to have a passport and it must be kept with the adopter. There is also complete information on the identification of the animal on the same page (chip, tattoo and earring);
We have added an identification code to the veterinary clinic information, which allows us to get information about this clinic from the public register, which is sometimes necessary (address, founders, director, etc.)
The news and the most important is "information about state registration", that is, about the state (municipal) registration of an animal. Resolution of the City Council of Tbilisi Municipality No. 7-28 dated 04.2015 "On approval of rules for the care and management of animals (dogs, cats) and their populations in the territory of Tbilisi Municipality" requires the registration of dogs and cats. The new veterinary passport includes a form that allows a veterinarian or other registrar to state the animal's registration and information. In addition, registration certificates were issued for animals that do not have veterinary books and are not registered in veterinary institutions at all. In the new veterinary passport, filling out this form will become mandatory. At the same time, if a specific veterinary clinic does not have a license for registration, the owner can do the registration in another organization and the registrar will record the information in this passport. Based on the above, this process is simplified and it is already visible in the veterinary passport whether the animal is registered or not and by whom. Control registration forms are in the same passport (p. 38-43). In the future, registrations will begin in other cities and regions of Georgia, and in the case of this passport, the registration process will be easier (it will no longer be necessary to print an additional document and distribute it). It is desirable that in case of donating or adopting a dog from the shelter, this veterinary book should be filled, the animal should be registered and the book should be handed over to the new owner or adopter.
The passport contains useful information - definitions, responsibilities of the owner, the World Declaration of Animal Rights and other information. Since the passport is issued in the name of the animal protection organization and the logo emphasizes animal protection.
