Pharmacological action:

“Enrofloxacin 10%” belongs to the group of fluoroquinolones and exhibits a broad spectrum of antibacterial and antimycoplasmal activity. Inhibits the growth and development of gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms, including E. coli, Haemophilus spp., Pasteurella spp., Campylobacter spp., Salmonella spp. and Mycoplasma spp.

Enrofloxacin is rapidly and well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and penetrates all organs and tissues of the body. The maximum concentration in the blood is reached 1-2 hours after taking the drug and is maintained for 6 hours, and the therapeutic concentration lasts for 24 hours.

Enrofloxacin undergoes partial biotransformation - it is converted into ciprofloxacin. Fluoroquinolones are mainly excreted unchanged in the urine and bile.

Bacterial resistance to enrofloxacin develops relatively slowly, since the mechanism of antimicrobial action of enrofloxacin is associated with inhibition of the activity of the enzyme gyrase, which affects the replication of the DNA helix in the bacterial cell nucleus.

Indications:

“Enrofloxacin 10%” is used to treat diseases of the gastrointestinal, respiratory, and urinary systems caused by microorganisms sensitive to fluoroquinolones in calves, lambs, goats, pigs, and poultry;

Administration and dosage:

“Enrofloxacin 10%” is administered orally to target species with drinking water.

Calves, lambs, goats - 10 ml of the drug per 75 - 150 kg of live weight, twice a day for 3 - 5 days;

Pigs - 1 l of the drug is dissolved in 1000 - 3000 l of drinking water, duration of treatment 3 - 5 days.

Poultry - 1 l of the drug is dissolved in 1500 - 2000 l of drinking water, duration of treatment 3 - 5 days.

A fresh aqueous solution of the drug should be prepared daily. It is not allowed to use an aqueous solution prepared the day before.

The drug is not used in laying birds.

Contraindications:

The drug "Enrofloxacin 10%" is not used

in laying birds;

in case of increased sensitivity to enrofloxacin;

in case of severe kidney and/or liver diseases;

during pregnancy and lactation
in combination with tetracycline, chloramphenicol, macrolides and lincosamides.

Withdrawal period:

Meat - 12 days
