Antibacterial susupension for oral administration
Composition:
Each ml contains:
Sulfadiazine................................................... ............400 mg.
Trimethoprim................................................... ...............80 mg.
Target species: calves, goats, sheep, pigs and poultry.
Indications:
Infections of the gastrointestinal tract and respiratory system of calves, goats, sheep, pigs and poultry caused by microorganisms sensitive to trimethoprim and sulfadiazine, such as E.Coli, Haemophilus, Pasteurella, Salmonella, Staphylococcus and Streptococcus.
Dosage:
for oral use; Shake well before use.
Calves, goats and sheep: twice a day, 5 ml per 100 kg of body weight, 4-7 days
during.
Poultry and pigs: 1 liter per 1500-2500 liters of drinking water, for 4-7 days.
Medicinal drinking water should be prepared only to meet daily needs.
Treated drinking water should be refreshed or replaced every 24 hours.
Note:
only for those calves, lambs and swans that are fed milk.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to trimethoprim and/or sulfonamides.
Administer to animals with severe renal and/or hepatic impairment or blood dyscrasias.
Side effects:
Hypersensitivity to sulfonamides is rare, but remains a potential adverse effect.
Crystallization due to insoluble sulfonamide precipitation is a theoretical risk, although rarely described. In case of symptoms of crystalluria (hematuria, renal colic), the drug should be stopped immediately and sodium carbonate (alkalis), for example, should be prescribed in order to increase the solubility of sulfadiazine in the urine. Long-term use also increases the risk of blood dyscrasias.
Anemia, leukopenia and thrombocytopenia.
Waiting period:
For meat:
Calf, goat, sheep and pig: 8 days.
Poultry: 5 days.
Do not use in egg-laying birds whose eggs are intended for human consumption.
Special precautions and warnings:
It is not recommended to mix the drug with other medications.
An overdose may have a toxic effect on the kidneys.
Storage conditions:
Keep out of reach of children!
The shelf life of the veterinary medicinal product is 3 years from the date of manufacture.
Shelf life after first opening the package:
2 weeks
Shelf life of medicinal drinking water:
24 hours.
The tightly closed drug should be stored at a temperature of 15-250C, protected from light.
Release form:
1000 ml suspension placed in a high-density polyethylene bottle with a cap.
SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS FOR UNUSED PRODUCTS OR WASTES
regarding destruction
Any unused veterinary medicinal product or waste material should be disposed of in accordance with local requirements.
