Composition:
Each ml contains:
Tilmicosin (as Tilmicosin Phosphate) ... 250 mg.

Clinical pharmacology:
Tilmicosin is a broad-spectrum semisynthetic bactericidal macrolide antibiotic synthesized from tylosin. It is effective against such microbes as Mycoplasma spp., Pasteurella spp. and Haemophilus spp. and also Corynebacterium spp. It is believed to affect bacterial protein synthesis by binding to 50S ribosomal subunits. Cross-resistance between tilmicosin and other macrolide antibiotics has been reported. After oral administration, tilmicosin is excreted mainly through the bile in the feces, and a small part in the urine.

Target species:

Veal, pork, chicken, turkey.

Indications:
Intended for the treatment of respiratory infections in calves, chickens, turkeys and pigs caused by microorganisms sensitive to tilmicosin, such as Mycoplasma species, Pasteurella multocida, Actinobacilli pleuropneumonia, Actinomycetes pyogenes and Mannheim hemolytica.

Dosage:
For oral use.

Calf: 1 ml. For every 20 kg of body weight in (artificial) milk, 2 times a day, for 3-5 days.
Poultry: 300 ml. per 1000 liters of drinking water (75 ppm), for 3 days.

Pork: 800 ml. per 1000 liters of drinking water (200 ppm), for 5 days.

Note: Medicated drinking water or (artificial) milk should be prepared every 24 hours. In order to ensure the correct dosage, the concentration of the product should be adjusted according to the actual water intake.

Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity or resistance to tilmicosin.
Simultaneous administration of other macrolides or lincosamides.
Use in the process of active microbial digestion or administration to horses and goats.
Parenteral administration, especially in swine.
Use in food animals as well as 1 birds producing eggs for human consumption.
Use during pregnancy and lactation only after a risk/benefit assessment by a veterinarian.

Side effects:
Sometimes, during treatment with tilmicosin, a temporary decrease in water or (artificial) milk intake is observed.

Waiting period:
Meat:
Calf: 42 days.
Chicken: 12 days.
Turkey: 19 days.
Pig: 14 days.

Do not use in birds whose eggs are used for human consumption.

Special precautions and warnings:
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity or resistance.
Do not use in combination with other macrolides or lincosamides.
Do not use in horses and goats.
Cannot be administered parenterally, especially in pigs.
Not allowed for use in food-producing animals, as well as in birds that produce eggs for human consumption.
Use during pregnancy and lactation only after a risk/benefit assessment by a veterinarian.

Storage conditions:
Keep out of reach of children!

Makrotil-250 is suitable for 3 years, protected from light, at room temperature (15-25 °C) under storage conditions. Drinking water in which the drug is dissolved is suitable for 24 hours when stored below 25 °C.
