Composition:
Each ml contains:
Ceftiofur (as hydrochloride)................................................. ...............50 mg/ml
Target species:
Cattle and pigs.
Indications:
Cattle: respiratory disease of cattle caused by the following pathogens - Mannheimia haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida and Histophilus somni (Haemophilus somnus); Acute necrobacteriosis of cattle (foot rot, pododermatitis) associated with Fusobacterium ne, crophorum and Bacteroides
with melaninogenicus; Acute metritis (0 to 10 days post-win) associated with bacterial organisms such as E.coli, Arcanobacterium pyogenes, and Fusobacterium necrophorum.
Pig: Ceftionel-50 oil suspension is indicated for the treatment/control of swine bacterial respiratory disease (swine bacterial pneumonia) caused by the following microorganisms: Actinobacillus (Haemophilus) pleuropneumoniae, Pasteurella multocida, Salmonella choleraesuccusis, and Streptococcus suis.
Dosage:
Cattle:
- Bacterial respiratory infections:
1 ml per 50 kg body weight for 3-5 days, subcutaneously.
- acute necrobacteriosis:
1 ml per 50 kg body weight for 3 days, subcutaneously.
- acute metritis (0-10 days after delivery):
1 ml per 50 kg body weight for 5 days, subcutaneously.
Pig:
- Bacterial respiratory infections:
1 ml per 16 kg body weight for 3 days, intramuscularly.
Shake well before use and do not inject more than 13 ml in cattle and 4 ml in pigs at one injection site.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to cephalosporins and other β-lactam antibiotics.
Significant impairment of kidney function.
Simultaneous administration of tetracyclines, chloramphenicol, macrolides, sulfanilamides and lincosamides.
Side effects:
Mild hypersensitivity reactions at the injection site that disappear without treatment.
Waiting period:
For meat and offal:
Cattle: 3 days.
Pig: 4 days.
Milk: 0 hours.
Special precautions and warnings:
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to cephalosporins and other β-lactam antibiotics, in case of significant impairment of renal function.
Simultaneous administration of tetracyclines, chloramphenicol, macrolides, sulfanilamides and lincosamides is not advisable.
Do not inject more than 13 ml in cattle and 4 ml in pigs at one injection site.

Keep out of reach of children!
Ceftionel-50 has a shelf life of 3 years when stored in a dark place at 15 - 25 °C. After the first opening, the drug is good for 2 weeks.
