Clinical Pharmacology: Flunixin is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory, analgesic drug with antipyretic properties. It is used to relieve pain and inflammation associated with pathologies of the musculoskeletal system and colic. In addition, it is used to control acute inflammatory reactions associated with infectious diseases. Flunixin is also used as an adjunctive therapy in the treatment of respiratory disease.
Target animals: cattle, horses and pigs.
Indications: Cattle: Banixin-50 is indicated for the control of fevers associated with respiratory diseases, endotoxemia and acute mastitis in cattle. Banixin50 is also prescribed to control inflammation in entodoxemia; In case of an infectious disease, as an adjunct to antimicrobial therapy to reduce the clinical signs of acute inflammation. Horses: Banixin-50 is prescribed in musculoskeletal pathologies to relieve inflammatory signs and visceral pain associated with colic. Swine: Banixin-50 is prescribed as an adjunctive therapy in the treatment of swine respiratory disease.
Contraindications: Do not exceed the recommended dose or duration of treatment. Do not use in horses that are used in competitions (horse racing). Do not use Mace in gilts or pigs or 48 hours prior to expected gain, postpartum placental expulsion in cows. Do not use in lactating cows whose milk is intended for human consumption. Do not use in breeding bulls, as the effect of Banixin-50 on the reproductive system has not been studied in these classes of cattle. Do not use in case of dehydration oligemia or hypotension, as well as in animals suffering from heart, liver or kidney diseases. Banixin-50 should not be used in animals in which there is a risk of gastrointestinal ulceration or bleeding, blood dyscrasias or hypersensitivity to the product. Do not use in animals undergoing general anesthesia until complete recovery. Avoid intra-arterial injection or simultaneous use of other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and nephrotoxic drugs. Use in animals less than 6 weeks of age or in older animals may involve additional risks.
Adverse Effects: Adverse effects include gastrointestinal irritation, ulceration, hematologic changes, and in dehydrated, oligemic, or hypotensive animals, kidney damage may occur. 43 In rare cases, acute anaphylactoid reactions, sometimes fatal, have been reported.
Dosage: For intramuscular or intravenous administration: - Cattle: 2 ml per 45 kg of weight. If necessary, repeat in 24 hours, for 3 days. - Horses: 1 ml per 45 kg body weight only intravenously. In case of colic, the treatment can be repeated once or twice. In the case of musculoskeletal pathologies, the treatment is carried out once a day for 5 days, depending on the clinical result. - Pig: 2 ml per 45 kg of weight, once, only by injection into the muscle. Administer the drug slowly so that it adapts to body temperature. The injection should be stopped as soon as signs of intolerance appear. Water supply should be provided in the required amount.

Standard packaging: Banixin-50 is in a colorless type II glass vial (50 ml.), equipped with a type I bromobutyl rubber stopper and an aluminum seal, placed in an individual cardboard box with an annotation.
Special precautions for use: Special precautions for use in animals: In the case of dairy cows, refrain from using the product 48 hours before calving and after delivery until the placenta is expelled, as the use of the product during this period may delay parturition and cause placental retention after delivery. When injecting more than 20 ml in cattle and more than 4 ml in pigs, the injection should be divided and given in several places. During intramuscular injection in pigs, avoid injecting the drug into adipose tissue. Special precautions should be taken by the person handling the product. People with hypersensitivity to NSAIDs should avoid direct contact with the veterinary product. Hypersensitivity can cause serious reactions. Wear gloves, wash splashes from skin and eyes immediately. If irritation persists, seek medical attention. In case of accidental ingestion or self-injection, rinse mouth with water (if available) and seek medical attention.

Storage conditions: Banixin-50 has a shelf life of 3 years, store in a dark room at a temperature of 15 - 25 °C. After opening, store away from light in a refrigerator (2 - 8 °C) and use within 2 weeks. Pharmacotherapeutic group and ATC
