Product name: Colexil oral 1000 ml

Qualitative and quantitative composition per 1 ml:

Enrofloxacin................................................... .......... 100 mg/ml

Colistin Sulfate ................................................ .. 1 200 000 IU/ml

Pharmaceutical form:
Oral solution to be taken with drinking water.

Pharmacological properties:
The combination of colistin and enrofloxacin complement each other. Enrofloxacin is a synthetic, broad-spectrum antimicrobial substance that belongs to the group of fluoroquinoline antibiotics. Enrofloxacin acts on gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria and mycoplasma. It is well absorbed orally and rapidly excreted with bile and urine, mainly as enrofloxacin and ciprofloxacin metabolites. Colistin is an antibiotic of the polymyxin group, which has bactericidal activity against gram-negative bacteria, such as E. coli, Haemophilus spp. and Salmonella spp. It is poorly absorbed after oral administration, and its concentration in the serum of target animals is essentially undetectable. Colistin taken orally is almost completely excreted in the feces.

Target animals:    pigs and poultry.

Indications:
Colexil Oral (Colexil Oral) is prescribed for gastrointestinal, respiratory and urinary tract infections caused by colistin- and enrofloxacin-susceptible microorganisms in pigs and poultry, such as Campylobacter spp., E. coli, Haemophilus spp., Mycoplasma spp., Pasteurella spp. and Salmonella spp..

Contraindications:

Cases of resistance to quinolones and/or colistin. Do not use on egg-laying birds whose eggs are intended for human consumption. It is not allowed to prescribe to mace or lactating animals. It is not allowed to prescribe Colexil Oral (Colexil Oral) in the smallest therapeutic doses or for the purpose of prevention.

Adverse effect:
All quinolone antibiotics have the ability to cause joint damage in young animals. During the period of active growth, enrofloxacin can affect the cartilage of the joints. Digestive disorders such as intestinal dysbiosis, gas accumulation, mild diarrhea or vomiting may develop. Side effects of quinolones such as rash and central nervous system disorders are possible.
