Active substances:
Pharmacological group:
Antibacterial agent for systemic use
ATC vet code: QJ01
Pharmacological action:
Due to the synergistic effect of the active substances contained in Ciproflox, the activity of the preparation is significantly enhanced.
Amoxicillin belongs to the group of semi-synthetic penicillins with a broad spectrum of antimicrobial activity. It has a bactericidal effect against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria such as Campylobacter, Escherichia coli, Erysipelothrix, Haemophilus, Pasteurella. Amoxicillin is effective against clostridia, corynebacteria, salmonellae, penicillin-resistant staphylococci and streptococci. Its bactericidal action is based on inhibition of bacterial cell wall synthesis.
Ciprofloxacin belongs to the fluoroquinolone group of synthetic antibiotics and is active against a wide range of Gram-negative and Gram-positive microorganisms, especially Escherichia coli, Corynebacterium pyogenes, Salmonella spp., Shigella spp., Pasteurella, Staphylococcus spp., Staphylococcus hyicus, Streptococcus spp., Klebsiella spp., Corynebacterium spp., Enterobacterium spp., Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae, Proteus spp., Brucella canis, Actinobacillus spp., Listeria monocytogenes, Haemophilus spp., Clostridium spp.
The mechanism of action of ciprofloxacin is associated with inhibition of the enzyme topoisomerase II, which ensures DNA replication in the bacterial cell nucleus, leading to disruption of protein synthesis and death of the microorganism.
Pharmacokinetics:
After oral administration, the drug is rapidly and almost completely absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. Maximum concentrations of the active substances in many tissues and biological fluids are reached within 1–2 hours. Therapeutic concentrations are maintained for 24 hours.
Indications
The drug is intended for the treatment of infections of the respiratory system, gastrointestinal tract, urogenital system, colibacillosis, salmonellosis, mycoplasmosis, staphylococcal and streptococcal infections in calves, pigs, and poultry.
