Indications for use:
Glucochem-400 is intended for the treatment of energy deficiency in cattle, horses, sheep, goats, pigs, dogs and cats, including hypoglycaemia and clinical ketosis.

Contraindications:
Do not use in cases of hyperglycaemia, overhydration or hypotonic dehydration. For intravenous use only; do not administer extravascularly.

Adverse reactions:
A 40% hypertonic glucose solution may irritate peripheral veins and cause local thrombotic inflammation. If used as the sole source of fluid, water and electrolyte imbalance may occur, including hypokalaemia, hypophosphataemia and hypomagnesaemia. Prolonged use of high doses or rapid administration may result in increased diuresis and dehydration. Overdose may cause hyperglycaemia and osmotic diuresis.

Dosage:
For slow intravenous administration only. The product should be warmed to body temperature before use. The solution should be administered slowly at a rate of 0.5 g of glucose per kg of body weight per hour.

• Cattle, horses: 100–125 g of glucose, equivalent to 250–312.5 ml of the product.

• Sheep, goats, pigs: 12.5–25 g of glucose, equivalent to 31–62.5 ml of the product.

• Piglets, dogs, cats: 1.25–7.5 g of glucose, equivalent to 3–19 ml of the product.

Withdrawal period:
Cattle, horses, sheep, goats, pigs:
– Meat and offal: 0 days.

Cattle, horses, sheep, goats:
– Milk: 0 days.

Shelf life and storage conditions:
Glucochem-400 has a shelf life of 3 years when stored at a temperature below 25 °C.
Any unused contents must be discarded.
Keep out of reach of children!

Special precautions:
The product is incompatible with aminophylline, soluble barbiturates, erythromycin, hydrocortisone, warfarin, kanamycin, soluble sulfonamides and vitamin B12.

Presentation:
Glucochem-400 is supplied in transparent white 500 ml plastic bottles sealed with a bromobutyl rubber stopper and an aluminium cap. Transport packaging contains 12 bottles with an enclosed leaflet.
